Cosmos Tooling Solution, Ltd., is a Hong Kong-based company that will wholly own a manufacturing facility in Hengli Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province in southern China. This factory will provide both domestic and export plastic injection molds with an emphasis on high-quality export tooling. Along with having all of the necessary equipment for building high precision quality molds, Cosmos will have a full quality control department and an engineering department using both Pro-E and Unigraphics design software. Cosmos will also have production capabilities, the ability to perform secondary operations as well as provide complete assembly operations.
Cosmos Tooling Solution, Ltd., is comprised of three U.S. partners and three Hong Kong partners. The partners have a combined 116 years experience in the industry designing, manufacturing and supplying prototype and production parts for the automotive, aviation, medical, telecommunications, industrial and consumers product markets in both the U.S. and Europe. The global content of the ownership group helps ensure that all aspects of the mold development process are delivered as expected and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Cosmos Tooling Solution’s mold-making mission is to “provide the highest quality global tool making service available by using highly skilled staff, seamless exchange of information and communication, and rigid manufacturing systems and processes”.
Typical programs will be designed, managed, and validated and tuned in U.S., with mold construction in China. The end goal is to take advantage of the skill sets available in each region, and offer a cost-competitive solution without any surprises. Our goal is to make it easy to do business with us, and harness the advantages of doing business globally all through one facility.
Other services provided thru the partners are as follows: US based product and mold design, U.S.-based program management and communication, certified Mold Flow consultants, Certified RJG mold build and tryout including rigorous mold tryout and process development (Scientific Molding), end-of-arm tooling design and build, inspection fixtures, pilot production, full validation including first articles, GR&R, and PPAP’s. Our goal is to provide a turn-key, ready to run solution in the shortest possible lead-time at a competitive cost.
Cosmos specializes in complex 250-ton and smaller work, but has capability to build molds that run in up-to-700-ton molding machines, and builds molds for both horizontal and vertical molding machines for insert molding. |
