So where exactly is Ironwood, Michigan? We're in the U.P. (Upper Peninsula for those of you from out-of-state) on the Michigan/Wisconsin border, about ten miles from Lake Superior, and just south of the Porcupine Mountains.

Regional Airport~Extreme Tool and Engineering Directions

From Gogebic County Airport ( Ironwood)

1) Take Airport Drive South to Airport Road (2 blocks)
2) Take Rt. (West) on Airport Road for apx. 2 miles
3) Take Left(south) on Lake Road for apx. 5 miles to 4 Way Stop Light = Hwy.2
4) Take Left(east) on Hwy 2 for apx. ten miles. (apx. 1 mile down on right side is the AmericInn). Go through Bessemer. Continue on to Wakefield until 4 Way Stop Light.
5) Take Left (north) on M28. Continue on past Sunday Lake apx. 2 mites total from stop light. and apx. 1 mile past end of lake.
6) Take Left (north) on Cty. Hwy 519 (to Porcupine Mountains) apx. 2 miles.
7) Just as you start to see a small group of homes, you will have entered village of Thomaston. A freshly paved road will enter from left, turn here onto Planter Road for apx. 1 mile.
8) Right Turn onto Production Drive = Extreme Tool and Engineering, first building on left, just past railroad tracks.

From Oneida County Airport (Rhinelander)

1) Take Airport Drive South to Hwy. 8 (2 blocks)
2) Take Left. (East) on Hwy 8 for apx. 2 miles
3) Take Left (north) on Hwy 47 for apx. 20 miles to 4 Way Stop Light = Hwy. 51, in Woodruff
4) Take Right (north) onto Hwy 51 for apx. 50 miles until Hurley.
5) At Hurley 4 way stop sign continue on straight through until you reach Hwy 2 East, merge right.
6) Take Hwy 2 for apx. 10 miles. (apx. 2 miles down, after 2 stop lights, you will pass AmericInn (Ironwood) on right side. Go through Bessemer. Continue on to Wakefield until 4 Way Stop Light.
7) Take Left (north) on M28. Continue on past Sunday Lake apx. 2 miles total from stop light, and apx. ~ 1 mile past end of lake.
8) Take Left (north) on Cty. Hwy 519 (to Porcupine Mountains) apx. 2 miles.

Red’s Auto is located in Ironwood, next door to the AmericInn Hotel. They offer late model cars and van rental as req’d, and car’s can picked up either at their lot in Ironwood or if arranged in advance, car will be waiting at airport for you when you get off your flight. Cars can then be left at airport when you depart as well. Telephone contact info as noted, and rental agreement form available as attached. Please note that they will need all of this info to complete rental agreement. rental form
